Kathy Griffin Talk Show Returns With Liza Minnelli, Jane Lynch

NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

via glooce

Kathy Griffin's Bravo talk show returns with new episodes on January 10 with one big change: The unpredictable host will be coming to you live. To celebrate the new season and format, Griffin has tapped two big names for the premiere: Liza Minnelli and Jane Lynch.

"I'm very excited. I have such a crazy and fantastic time happening," Griffin told The Huffington Post in a phone interview. "Liza, Jane Lynch and ... I guess I can't say who the third person is ... But I do feel like when you have guests that are in a combination that might be a little atypical, combined with me and a very nervous network, something good is going to happen."

In an exclusive interview with The Huffington Post, Griffin revealed the genesis behind the switch to live, her dream guests and what has her most worried now there's no editing room floor.

Do you have your own personal censor at this point?
I have several. There's a team of gay men who are probably going to be so excited to see Liza, that they may be giving me the gay gasp while I'm saying offensive things.

So you'll be censored by the gasps?
Look, I don't have a standard and I don't want to practice anything. So, "standards and practices" is just a foreign phrase to me that means nothing.

From what I understand it's going to be very similar to last season ... just live.
Well, I think the formula we kind of ended up with, which was our winning formula, was combining celebrities with civilians and having them out on the couch for the whole show. There are so many shows where there's a one-on-one interview with someone for four-six minutes, they talk about their project and it's great, but I know that's how it's done because I've basically been on every talk show in the world and been banned from at least half of them. There's just a really fun and different experience when these people get to be on the couch together. It's a different kind of conversation and when you're going live, nothing gets left on the cutting room floor.

For example, last year when I had Jane Fonda, Lisa Ling and Sharon Osbourne all on one couch, I really wish we had been live. We ended up taping that show for about two hours to be cut down to one hour. When you have those three ladies, it kind of killed me to leave anything on the cutting room floor. I said to Bravo, "OK, I will book an interesting combination of guests and let me leave them a little longer, then you really get a different feel. It's not me talking to them, it's them talking to each other."

Is it going to be a longer show?
No, it's an hour show. They're trying to control me as much as they possibly can, so there's a lot of smoke and mirrors going on, or what they call "dark arts." There is something I've never even used called an ear piece. Apparently there's a little thing that looks kind of like a small cashew that goes in my ear and someone from Bravo, I guess will just be basically yelling at me for an hour and that way they can keep time. The seven-second delay guy is probably just going to fall asleep from exhaustion about 20 minutes in. He's going to need to get some old fen fen from the '80s just to stay awake and then we're going to have people running around with signs that say things like, "Please look into the camera." I mean, honestly, it's basically like dealing with a six-year-old. And that's when they know to throw Liza into the mix.

Are you at all nervous about your guests might say live?
I am looking forward to any kind of moment that will make myself and the audience nervous. Besides New Year's Eve with Anderson [Cooper], I have hosted "Larry King Live" back in the day and I had the "Toddlers and Tiaras" on long before Ellen discovered them. You know, fabulous kids, you don't know what they're going to say. I had Brooke Hogan on from "Hogan Knows Best" and she was defending her comments that Hillary Clinton couldn't be president because you can't have a female president because she gets her period. I like those moments, I welcome those moments ... I do feel like when you have guests that are in a combination that might be a little atypical, combined with me and a very nervous network, something good is going to happen.

Do you have your eye on any particular guests?
What I'm intrigued by is unusual combination. For example, I like the combination of Chris Colfer and a civilian, like maybe Ryan my dog walker, and Dustin Hoffman. I want you to turn on the show and say, "How the hell did these three people get together?' I want to do a show with a rapper named A$AP Rocky, who has a dollar sign in place of the S and he's an explicit rapper. He has expressed he would like to have sex with me or Cher. He's I think 24, and I would like to have him on with the singer Ke$ha, who also has the dollar sign in her name and then maybe my assistant's roommate's hairdresser. I like to see a mixing of real people and then celebrities you maybe wouldn't think of typically being together.

Is your mom going to join you live?
My mom is right here next to me. Look, there's no "Kathy" show without Maggie. My mom is really the person the censor button is for. That's really a dirty little secret. She watches Fox News -- and she believes it -- so we don't know what the hell she's going to say. We've got her on a short leash. She's on a short leash.

What are you watching these days?
I am super into "Beyond Scared Straight." I have been sucked back into "Teen Mom 2." I am a fan of a show called "Gigolos" and it should be on every week. I'm telling you, it's the hidden gem of Showtime.

Oh, I love "Gigolos."
OK, don't you think I should have Brace on?

Yes, yes you should.
Don't you think we should go to Braceland? I want to have Brace, Carmen Electra and Eric Dane from "Grey's Anatomy." I think that Brace thinks he is Eric Dane from "Grey's Anatomy."

"Gigolos" is a gem of Showtime. Forget "Homeland," it's "Gigolos."
Thank you.

Do you have any hopes and dreams for the new season?
My whole career has been "slow and steady wins the race" and so I know I can't ever beat the ratings of, oh I don't know, Kim Zolciak taking off her fucking wig, but I want this show to be a weekly show and I have so much fun doing it. I had so much fun last year learning.

It's a different format for me, it's partially stand-up, I'll open with a monologue. Like I said, there's going to be a cashew in my ear. There's going to be celebrities I know, celebrities I don't know, civilians that could really say anything and I'm excited to see the conversations that come up. The nice thing about going live is -- and what I enjoy about being a guest on live shows is -- you go in there and what's great is every single time you really think you know what's going to happen and you're always wrong. That's what's going to be great about this show: watching me be wrong week after week about what's going to happen.

I'd be remiss if I didn't tell you that my favorite moment of "My Life on the D-List" was when you photobombed Hillary Clinton. I love it so much.
I'm sure she doesn't, but the funny thing is someone from her campaign actually contacted me after that and they said, "Would you be willing to stump for (then) Senator Clinton?" I said -- and I say this with complete humility -- but truthfully, I turned them down because I said, "Look, I am a campaign killer." I said, "Not that I won't donate and of course I'm a huge fan of the senator (now the secretary)" ... and I say no to nothing, as you know. I'll show up to the opening of an envelope -- [but] even I said, "Trust me, I'm the last person you want to stump for any politician."

Maybe you'll get the chance in 2016?
Right? It was sort of an accidental A-list moment. I, of course, wasn't asked by the secretary herself, but I knew that I would basically be campaign napalm for Hillary Clinton. I remember photobombing that moment as well and I saw her one other time -- a very brief handshake -- but I thought she took it very well. I do love somebody that could take a joke, love somebody who could take a joke on the chin.

Like when Wilson Phillips made a surprise appearance on "Kathy" last season.
Oh! And that went down in a matter of hours. I mean our show is so low budget, it's so mom and pop. We had to pay something like $14,000 just to get the rights for them to sing the song and it practically shut the show down. When I'm talking to people to come on the show, I'm basically saying I think my mom might pick them up or could they possibly do their own makeup. I am so flattered that people actually want to show up and be on this show because it is a different experience ... I'm bringing back a little bit of the TV public access. Somebody said, "Wait a minute. Are you doing the Dick Cavett show?" And I said, "If you remember who that is then you're damn right I am!"

I'm really looking forward to January 10.
I think it's going to be fantastic. I love me some Liza and I love me some Jane Lynch. I've known Jane since we were both auditioning -- I think we were auditioning for Phoebe on "Friends" like all my other girlfriends did. She's so great and so talented and I know Liza socially and I've worked with her a couple of times. She's a living legend and she has a great sense of humor. It's a great combo. I think Jane is so excited to sit next to Liza and Liza's so excited to be sitting next to Jane and who knows what's going to happen. It's going to be great.

"Kathy" Season 2 premieres live, Thursday, January 10 at 10 p.m. EST on Bravo

Star Magazine reports That Anne Hathaway is pregnant

NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

via glooce

Looks like Anne Hathaway will take her weight from one extreme to another this year. On the slight chance that you’re Rip Van Winkles and you just awoke from a 100-year nap, let me be the first to tell you that Anne Hathaway lost clinically unhealthy amounts of weight for her role as Fantine in Les Miserables. That story dominated the headlines for approximately 25 weeks, one week for every pound she lost by starving herself.

And now, it appears she’ll be gaining weight for her new role as a mother. Not in a movie, but in real life! According to Star, she not only wants a baby, but she’s already pregnant. with one. Which works out beautifully, because it would be horrid if she went around being all like, “I hate babies and I never want one! Oh, also I’m pregnant and I’m registered at Babies R Us.”

A pal of The Devil Wears Prada star told Star the brunette beauty has been dropping “subtle hints that she may already be pregnant.

“She’s been avoiding alcohol, talking about nursery colors and decorations and inquiring to close friends who recently gave birth about the best pediatricians,” the pal said. ”She and Adam are definitely giving off the pregnant bliss vibe, leading loved ones to believe they might have a little one next summer!”

If we’ve learned anything from The Kate Middleton Pregnancy Rumor Mill of 2012, it’s that everything’s a sign of pregnancy. Especially the classic pregnant bliss vibe. If you’re shaking your head in confusion about this vibe, then you’ve clearly never seen a pregnant woman before. While I can’t pretend it’s possible to sum up the vibe with mere words, I’ll try. It’s that thing when a woman rides around the countryside on the back of a magical stork while saying things like “sonogram! diapers! wet nurse!” You’d know it, if you saw it.

Her pal goes on to also add that she’s excited thinking about ”how great a father Adam will be. He can’t wait until their baby is born.”

Like I said before, this is marvelous, marvelous, marvelous! There’s nothing more dreadful when an anonymous pal tells the media that a prospective father’s not excited for the birth of his child.

While this pregnancy’s still in early rumor stages, we expect it to be in full-blown face-bloat speculation mode by the time the new year rolls around.

Congrats Anne! Once you hit baby bump watch, you’ve really made it in this town.

Lindsay Lohan is Broke and can't afford her 8000 rent

NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

via glooce

The bad news keeps on tumbling in for troubled Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan. TMZ reports that the "Liz and Dick" star is struggling to pay the $8,000 rent for her Beverly Hills mansion. Lohan allegedly signed the lease back in February, two months after she posed naked for Playboy magazine for a cool $1 million.

Now TMZ quotes sources that say the 26-year-old has been "hitting up friends for money" for rent and has been, in the meantime, trying to break the lease early, before the February lease end date -- when Lohan plans on moving to New York.

The actress' tax debt has also been well documented by the tabloids in recent weeks. Lohan owes a reported $234,000 in back taxes for the years 2010 and 2011, causing the IRS to seize her bank accounts. The onslaught of money troubles even compelled Lohan's "Scary Movie 5" co-star Charlie Sheen to lend her a reported $100,000, though Sheen claimed Monday that Lohan has yet to thank him.

“I’m still waiting for a text to say ‘thank you,’” Sheen told “ET.” “Anything, you know? [She’s] a very good and decent young lady that is just going through a lot. She just needs a little bit of time …People need to give her time to get her s*** together.”

Will Kristen Stewart Get an Oscar Nod for On The Road?

Could Kristen Stewart score an Oscar nomination for On The Road?

With awards season ramping up and the adaptation of the Jack Kerouac classic set to debut in limited release this month, buzz about the actress’ portrayal of Marylou and potential honors is surfacing in some corners.

But what does Stewart think of the hype?

The Huffington Post asked the Twilight star for her thoughts on the awards season push.

“I love talking about this movie and everyone involved and the book and everything I’ve been through since the start of it. I would do anything to get the word out,” said Stewart.

But she added, “The fact that it has something to do with the Academy, I simply personally can’t acknowledge it in any way because it’s a ridiculous notion to suddenly go, like, ‘Yep, I’m really gunning. I’m really gunning for it.’”

Golden Globe nominations will be announced on Thursday, with the Oscar nods coming in January.

Lindsay Lohan dumps used Clothes for some Cash

NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

via glooce

The troubled star sent sister Ali Lohan to sell shoes and clothes at a used-clothing store.

With her accounts frozen by the IRS due to nonpayment of taxes in 2009 and 2010, Lindsay Lohan is running out of cash and out of options. She's apparently resorted to selling off her old clothes and shoes for extra money.

Radar Online reported Friday that Lindsay Lohan sent sister Ali (she of the terrifyingly shadowed visage) to Wasteland, a used clothing store in Los Angeles with a collection of designer clothing.

But despite the magnificence of Lindsay's castoffs, Ali wasn't able to realize much on the deal.

"Thirty dollars for these? They cost $700!" Radar Online quoted Ali Lohan as saying, according to "an eyewitness."

Ali, do you need a lesson in basic economics? The shoes cost $700 new. After someone else's dirty, sweaty feet have been in them, they're worth $60 tops. The $30 you were offered gives the store room for a generous 100 percent markup, typical of used clothing.
IRS seizes Lindsay Lohan's bank account >>

This is also why you can't sell your $2,000 couch for more than $100 on craigslist. But I digress.

Ali Lohan reportedly tried to negotiate the price on some items up, saying that Lindsay had worn such items as Chanel pumps and a Balenciaga purse on the red carpet.

"These have to be worth more, Lindsay was photographed wearing them, that has to add value," she begged.

But the management didn't budge, and Ali ultimately left the store not much richer than went she went in.

Anyone who's ever brought old clothes, books or shoes in to sell can relate to Ali Lohan's experience -- you never get as much as you thought you would, and you leave bitterly contemplating the difference between what you paid for the items and what you received for them.

Meanwhile, Lindsay's (admittedly kooky) dad Michael Lohan wonders where all his daughter's money went. He told Radar that she made $150,000 endorsing an energy drink. Wouldn't that help with the $233,000 she owes to the feds?

Sure would! So where's that money?

Lindsay Lohan hopes to avoid jail by going to rehab.

NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

Even though she has been arrested twicein the last few months and has likely violated her probation, Lindsay Lohan is hoping to avoid any jail time by going to rehab for at least SIX MONTHS, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting!

"Lindsay's manager and agent have been telling her for months that she must go to rehab to save her life. Until now she has resisted, but after her arrest this morning she realizes she needs help," a source close to the troubled starlet exclusively tells .

"It's very likely that Lindsay won't fight the probation violation charges and throw herself at the mercy of the court and hopes to avoid jail time by going to rehab for at least six months."

Lindsay was arrested again early Thursday morning in New York City at the club Avenue after she allegedly sucker punched a woman in the club.

As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, "Lindsay was completely out of control. She was drinking way too much booze and was doing cocaine," a club insider revealed.

With the latest legal trouble, the source said Lindsay could be facing a maximum of 237 days behind bars.

"Because of jail overcrowding in Los Angeles though she would only serve 25 percemt of that time. The City Attorney will ask the judge to max Lindsay out and send her to jail," the source says.

Rebel Wilson featured in Details Magazine surrounded shirtless guys

NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

via glooce

Forced to handle expectations of nonconformism and general sticking-it-to-the-Man-ness since birth, Rebel Wilson has more than lived up to her (very real) name. A standout amid Bridesmaids' swollen cast of scenery-chewing stars, the titular straight gal in Bachelorette, and the biggest, bawdiest, best thing in Pitch Perfect, Wilson, with at least five more movies under her belt in the two years since she moved to Los Angeles from her native Sydney, has, it's fair to say, indelibly changed the definition of the Hollywood leading lady. Not that she's fazed by that.

"America's a bigger market and more competitive, but I had the confidence of having written and/or starred in, like, 13 different shows in Australia," she says. And she's back in multi-hyphenate mode, retooling her own sitcom,
Super Fun Night, for ABC. Helping her navigate the recent deluge of opportunities—as well as helping assess the comfort level of general audiences—is her Bridesmaids roommate turned actual roommate, comedian Matt Lucas of Little Britain. "He comes in handy," Wilson says. "When I wanted to pull this stunt at the VMAs wearing a bikini with pubic hair sticking out, I tried the idea out on him first."

Anne Hathaway says she looks like her gay brother

NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

via glooce

With its theatrical release still 30 days away, Tom Hooper's Les Misérables is already being touted as an Oscar contender for Best Picture.

The movie musical screened for the first time on Friday afternoon at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in New York, where The Hollywood Reporter was on hand to report on general reactions.

Although Anne Hathaway's role as Fantine in the film is brief, she makes an "indelible impression" especially during "I Dreamed a Dream," THR writes.

Hathaway – who told attendees she spent four months working with a vocal coach before the cast assembled for nine weeks of rehearsal – was willing to cut her hair short for the role, even though it meant she'd "be almost bald" for her September nuptials toAdam Shulman

"When I eventually looked in the mirror I just thought I looked like my gay brother," she said at the screening.

Hathaway has not been shy in divulging how she transformed into Fantine. She recently spoke candidly to Vogue about her extreme dieting to prepare for the role.

The Academy Award-nominated actress, 30, began the process with a strict cleanse, resulting in a 10-lb. weight loss. Then, she lived off two thin squares of dried oatmeal paste a day for two weeks, causing her to lose 15 more lbs.

"I had to be obsessive about it," she said in the magazine's December issue. "The idea was to look near death. Looking back on the whole experience – and I don't judge it in any way – it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that's who Fantine is anyway."

Lifetime Epic Disaster Liz & Dick Best and Worst Moments

NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

via glooce

If you are reading this, it means your television has just finished showing you the Lifetime biopic Liz & Dick, starring Lindsay Lohan and Grant Bowler as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. And you must have a lot of emotions.

It wasn't all bad, was it? There were definitely some shining moments during the 123 minutes of Lohan-ness, but unfortunately, those came with moments that may have given you pause. We present the best and worst moments from Liz & Dick:

The Best Moments:

Faux Drunk Grant Bowler: Richard Burton did love his booze, and seeing Grant Bowler slur and stumble through half most of the movie was actually a very entertaining part of Liz & Dick. It led to a fiery viewing party debate on whether Bowler was actually drinking during shooting to get through production.

Lindsay Lohan's Genuine Smile: Did you see it? It didn't come often, and it was mostly while she was sitting in the director's chair reminiscing with young Richard Burton about their lives together. But that eye-sparkle that first made us fall in love with the Lohan came about more than once during Liz & Dick, and we shall cherish those smiles forever.

The Costumes: If we were watching Liz & Dick with Lohan, our conversation afterwards would very much be like this opening scene of Friends, with Lindsay as Joey and us as Monica. We can safely rave about the clothing in Liz and Dick, from the movie costumes to the luxurious dresses that Elizabeth Taylor favored. It was fun to experience that time period through the eyes of the wealthy couple. And the lighting was good, too.

The Worst Moments:

Lindsay Attempting Real Emotion:
You could tell she wanted to capture the tumultuous and often times painful aspects of Liz and Dick's marriages (the tears, the fighting, the passionate embraces), but she just couldn't quite get there. And when you fall flat during those emotional scenes, you fall hard and right on your face. And everybody winces and averts their eyes uncomfortably.

Lindsay's Wavering Accent: Elizabeth Taylor was born in London, so she's supposed to have an accent, albeit a slight one. Lohan did her best to stay in that accent, but she often slipped into her normal, American-accented husky speaking voice. Let's just say this, if you were playing a drinking game and you took a shot every time Lindsay slipped back into her American accent, you're probably in the hospital right now.

Knowing Lindsay Could Never Be Liz: The great Elizabeth Taylor was intoxicating and seductive, and you couldn't take her eyes off of her when she was onscreen. You certainly can't take your eyes off of Lohan in Liz & Dick, but not for the same reasons. As accurate as the costumes are and as hard as Bowler tries to be Richard Burton, Lohan will never be Taylor. And that is the bottom line.

Michael Lohan On Lindsay Lohan’s Film Debut: Screw The Critics

The long-awaited premier of Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor hit Lifetime Sunday evening after a barrage of criticism.

But daddy Michael Lohan tells RumorFix exclusively, “screw the critics.”

Although the father and daughter aren’t talking, he’s still defending her.

“Due to the content, I had to step away from some of the scenes,” Michael tells us, “but regardless of what some of these so called critics (who don’t have an ounce of talent in their bones) say, Lindsay proved that she is an amazing actress!”

He continues,”This was a different role for her at a different time of her life! Yet, she still has what it takes to be the Lindsay Lohan that is one of Hollywood’s top actresses! Just imagine.”

Emma Stone might have a sex tape

NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

via glooce

Emma Stone has a sex tape, and it's not with her Amazing Spider-Man co-star and boyfriend Andrew Garfield, a source tells RadarOnline.com exclusively.

While the Easy A actress is known more as a comedic sweetheart than a sultry sexpot, a close insider says Emma, 24, has a wild streak that has culminated itself in the form of a homemade sex romp on video.

"Emma Stone has a sex tape and that's a fact," the source told RadarOnline.com.

"She made it long before she started dating Andrew Garfield, and before she really became a household name. She was just young and probably thought nothing would ever come of it."

According to the insider, the tape has not been shopped around…yet.

"The tape remains in the hands of the person she made it with," the source said.

"But that doesn't mean there's any guarantee that it won't eventually hit the market. The higher Emma's star rises, the more valuable that tape becomes."

The source -- a close pal of the actress -- tells RadarOnline.com that Emma certainly isn't the type who would relish in releasing a sex tape and sees no benefit of making a name for herself by using it.

"Emma's really happy with her career and proud of where she is," the source said.

"There's no way she would organize the release of the tape; in fact, she would fight to stop it. She has no respect for women like Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton who became famous because they released a sex tape."

Lindsay Lohan will focus on love after she wins her Oscar

    NEWS -CINEMA-MUSIC-CELEBRITY-WORLD-POLITICS

    via glooce

    Suni

Lindsay Lohan has been making the press rounds for the last two weeks in support of Liz & Dick, Lifetime's new Elizabeth Taylor biopic that premieres November 25.

But, as evidenced by canceling on Barbara Walters, it was made plainly clear that LiLo was only interested in discussing her professional career. Questions about her personal life have consistently gotten the, "I don't want to go there" treatment from Lindsay. That's why I was so surprised to read such a candid interview with her in the new issue of US Weekly.

Not only does she address her time in jail -- and rehab! -- but Lindsay opens up about her father fight, her relationship with Samantha Ronson and adopting! Check out the most choice quotes:

On Her Fight With Michael Lohan
That night will always be my one regret because it hurt my siblings and my mom. It's unfortunate that I can't call my dad when I fight with my mom. That's fine. Whatever. I'll call my brother. He's not going to edit the conversation and put it out in public!

    On Her Notoriety
Since I was a kid, I've loved being on camera. Don't misconstrue that: I didn't strive to have flashbulbs at dinner or people who don't know me calling TMZ. And 99 percent of the time, it's not true. I feel bullied. I can't think of any actor who has been subjected to such extreme publicity who hasn't, like, committed suicide.

    On Dating Samantha Ronson
I was bold enough to say, "Yeah, I like a girl. And?" That put her in a situation where she was being attacked every day. That's not fair. And what am I left with? Heartbreak. That was three years ago. It was my last serious relationship. I needed to love myself before I could be with anyone. And was going through a lot. Two toxic people cannot be together. End of story. We're friends now. That's how it started, so I think that's what it was meant to be.

    On Her Jail Time
As hard as it was for me to admit it when I was in denial, it was a blessing in disguise. I was in solitary confinement and I took the time to really get into the right headspace.

    On Rehab
I think [I got back on the right track] when I was at Betty Ford. That's how I changed. Marilyn Monroe went to an institution and said, "I may not belong here like the world thinks I do, but I might as well take what I can get here and use it and help other people." I think that's what everyone should take away from these experiences.

    On Her Future
    I want to adopt a son. I don't want to deal with a mini-me!

    On Finding Love Again
I'm not focused on that yet. I want to do a ton of movies first. After I win an Oscar, I can start thinking about love.

Lindsay Lohan Interview with the UK's Daily Mirror

    grass

It's easy to see why Lindsay Lohan fought so hard to play Elizabeth Taylor in a new drama, as their lives have striking parallels.

Both were hugely successful child stars, have been the subject of unrelenting public scrutiny and had a string of tempestuous love affairs.

But there’s one big difference: the 26-year-old hasn’t found her Richard Burton yet.

She has reportedly dated lots of hunky men, including Bruce Willis, Christian Slater, Colin Farrell and Jared Leto, but she still hasn’t found The One.

Lindsay, who plays Taylor in the TV movie Liz and Dick, says: “I can only imagine what it would be like to have the kind of love that she and Richard Burton had.

“It’s such a wonderful thing. It’s so heartbreaking. Love is scary and I’m yet to find that one person.

"I relate to the fact that Elizabeth Taylor once said, ‘I love being in love.’ I do, too. I love being in love.

“There’s nothing better than that first feeling of being in love, so I look forward to having that at some point.

“Yes, I’ve been in love with people – maybe one or two – but I haven’t really had a true love yet.”

Liz and Dick marks her comeback in front of the cameras after a rocky two years during which she spent three months in rehab at the Betty Ford Center under a court order and was charged with theft of a necklace and probation violation.

She was placed under house arrest wearing a tracking ankle monitor and was later found to have broken the terms of her probation by failing to perform community service.

She was sentenced to 30 days in jail but spent less than five hours there because of overcrowding. She is still on informal probation.

But, she says, she is trying hard to lose the “bad girl” image that has dogged her for so long and she is now concentrating on work.

“I fought to get the role in Liz and Dick because I related to her so much because of her position in the public eye and the media obsession with her, and the ups and downs in her relationships and life. And that’s aside from her love for diamonds!” she laughs.

“We’re both strong-willed and Elizabeth and her mother had a similar bond to the one I have with my mother.
"I learned from Liz that it’s OK to be in love and have heartache. She and Burton loved each other so much it was scary.”

When the role came along she was anxious to start work again and try to restore her reputation.

“I love acting and that’s what I started out doing and it’s unfortunate that people began to know me as a celebrity rather than an actress,” she says. “I can only hope to gain respect back through my work.”

And after so much turmoil she is determined to change her life.

“I care what people think but I am who I am and it’s unfortunate that some of the things that are meant to be kept private have been exposed and if I had the choice I wouldn’t have had it that way.

“I’ve drawn from experiences and from things I’ve seen and grown up with and I don’t want to go back.”

Lindsay believes that part of her problems stemmed from the people around her.

“When you’re filming, you’re part of a family and then when it stops you’re left alone with nothing and it gets lonely and depressing and sad.

“I was being hounded a lot and didn’t know what to do and didn’t want to listen to anyone. At the age when I would have been in college I was in Los Angeles living by myself and I didn’t have the best people with the best intentions around me.

“It’s hard for me to say ‘no’ to someone I love and I really don’t like to notice the bad in people and I’ve had to work on that because not everyone has your best interests at heart.

“When you reach a certain point of fame, people are willing to do whatever you ask them to do and are afraid to say no.

“That has a lot to do with living in excess and if you don’t have the right people around you then you’re never going to learn when to stop.”

Lindsay was upbeat and friendly when we talked in the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Lively and quick-witted with a bright sense of humour, she talked frankly and openly about her life and problems despite the fact her publicists had ruled out any personal questions.

She was wearing a vintage blue dress, one of hundreds she keeps in storage units around LA.

“I was working and travelling a lot and living in different hotels and I didn’t want to bring everything with me so you end up buying more and then it comes home and people send you things.

“It just piles up and up and you want to keep getting the new thing so you end up having way too much,” says Lindsay, who once confessed to having spent £75,000 in one shopping spree.

“My garage is not a garage, it’s a closet,” she laughs. “I love clothing. It’s so expressive and whatever you wear on a certain day tells the story of who you are.”

Despite the fame and fortune life isn’t easy for Lindsay. Wherever she goes she is hounded by paparazzi and her troubled home life and anguished relationship with her father have come under almost constant scrutiny in the gossip columns and fan magazines.

She has been in showbusiness since she was three years old, when she was the first red-haired child signed by the Ford model agency.

Raised in Long Island, New York, she was sometimes thrust into the role of protector of her younger sister and two brothers from the antics and aggression of her father, a former Wall Street trader who was jailed for a series of offences.

Divorced from Lindsay’s mother Dina, Michael Lohan’s problems include alleged drug abuse, attempted assault, a fraud case, felony driving charges and a restraining order. He also tried to claim some of Lindsay’s earnings.

The actress made her film debut in 1998 playing twins in the remake of The Parent Trap and became a teenage star, thanks to roles in Freaky Friday and Mean Girls.

Her last movie was a small part in Machete two years ago but now she is back, with Liz and Dick, and has just finished two more films.

“I said to everyone I was working with, ‘Just keep me on set’ because that’s where I’m happiest and I lost that feeling for a while.

"Now I have it back I don’t want to give it up. I just want to keep making films. That’s my focus.

“I know that I’m a really good actress and I know I’ve had my faults. But knowing that and knowing that I love what I do has kept me going.”

Amber Heard is pretty in pink for Guess's new girly fragrance.

Guess is getting girly, appealing to a younger audience with the upcoming launch of the Guess Girl fragrance.

Focusing on ladies in their early-20s, Steve Mormoris, senior vice president of global marketing for Coty Beauty told Women's Wear Daily, “We were inspired by the 30th anniversary of Guess for this fourth launch with the brandWe wanted to create something that captured the fashion brand’s sex appeal and youthful spirit.”

With top notes of raspberry nectar, melon and bergamot mist, and a drydown of Australian sandalwood and Madagascar vanilla, the fruity floral scent is a distinct departure from the brand's most recent perfume, Seductive, aimed toward women in their later 20's.

Shot by Ellen von Unwerth, Amber Heard fronts the ad campaign for the new scent. Clad in a curve-hugging pink sequin Guess dress with plenty of cleavage, the blonde bombshell brings a whole lotta va-va-voom, Hollywood glamour to the sweet and flirty scent. Looking every bit the voluptuous woman, Heard is that beauty icon with all the sex appeal that every young girl dreams of being. “For Guess, we love models who are reminiscent of Hollywood glamour girls like Sophia Loren and Marilyn Monroe,” Mormoris told WWD.

Launching this February, the fragrance will be offered in three sizes: (1 oz. for $40, 1.7 oz. for $52 and 3.4 oz. for $62 and a 6.7-oz. body cream for $28) at department stores and on Guess.com
